My Ski Trip in Kellogg, Idaho
Me and my host family, as well the organization Center for Cultural Interchange with all the other exchange students in the region had a fun weekend and we learned a lot too.

I was very excited to participate at the scholarship contest and I got to become a finalist, with other 42 students out of about 1000 in total.

Everything started when I was in middle school. I was actually studying english since 2nd grade and I loved it from the very beginning. My biggest dream was to go to America, seemed unreal, untouchable, but it came true! Isn't that amazing?

I was in 10th grade and I participated at the scholarship contest FLEX and I I got to know about me being a finalist in March, 2009, after I got a call. My parents and I decided that I should take the chance and try my luck over the ocean. If your are a mother or a father who is reading this, I would like to say that I really understand and I believe it is hard to let your teenager go far away from you and I'm not saying it is very easy. It is hard sometimes for both parts, the parents and the studensts. But this really makes you appreciate the time you spend with your family back at home and in the country you are in, because you know you will have to leave sometime. I bet it was hard for them to let me go, but before all, they understood me, that I wanted really bad to experience a more independent life, to live in a host family and live a time full of other challenges that would help me grow spiritually, become more mature and thoughtful in everything I do, to know another culture, visit a beautiful country and make a lot of new friends.

I am still here in America and I designed this site because I am taking a web design class here and I really loved it! It's an opportunity that I wouldn't have in my country without paying money for it. So, I am really thankful. I didn't leave yet, to know how is it to say good bye to my host family, but I am sure it is terribly hard, as hard as it was to say good bye to my natural family when I left Moldova.

My country is called Moldova, or oficially, the Republic of Moldova and it is situated in Eastern Europe, between Romania and Ukraine. If you want to find more information about Moldova, clik here.
